The “Financial Close”
Have no fear, there is lots of talk on this site about the high-level value finopty can deliver, but the foundation of our work is managing the day-to-day (bills, credit card, payroll, etc) and preparing an accurate set of financials. The close will drive insights, avoid year-end surprises and get your Company ready for the tax return and audit.
Reporting & Analysis
Now that the books are closed - what’s the story? Here, we focus on interpreting the numbers into headlines and visuals that you can use to share information across audiences (company-wide, board, exec team, investors , and on).
Budget & Forecast
Ok, now the real fun stuff! We love building Budgets and Forecasts that are dynamic and adaptable. Budgets are essential to locking in spending and profitability targets (your financial “North Star”). Forecasts are key to predicting cash and other key results using real-time data. Our goal is for these to give you so much insight, they become one of your most frequently visited bookmarks.
Process at Scale
We believe in lean and mean (well, actually lean and nice). We are passionate about finding smarter ways to get things done without sacrificing quality. We firmly believe in the cumulative effect of saving a click here and a keystroke there.
Sure, some of these process improvements will only be felt by the finance team but we also want to support other teams (see some examples in the FAQs).
Why finopty?
We’re trying to break the mold on how you think of the “Accountants”. There is no doubt that we are going to help you pay your bills. But we shine when we partner up on preparing your business for scale. We like the challenge of future-proofing everything (“Sure this is working today, but how about when we 10x”).
You are not going to hear from us only once a month when the financials are ready. We want to collaborate with all of your teams — to learn their workflow, figure out how that connects to the financials, and share back useful data and process recommendations.
No literally, why the name finopty?
Oh right, we’re glad you asked!
finopty is rooted in FinOps, short for Finance Operations. This is the team within a Company that we most identify with. We are here to support all product and customer facing teams however we can.
opty is also meant to evoke one of our core values, Optimize Everything. There is always a better, faster, and more efficient way of doing something and it is our job to be sourcing and implementing those ideas.
“XYZ Consulting” wasn’t going to cut it - we think finopty is techy and innovative because that’s how we feel!
